What Needs Our Love

"There are no facts. There are only stories"

-Whiteman, Nigerian shaman, quoted by Adebayo Akomolafe

Stories of what we loved that were threatened gave birth to this project. Here we list our stories of what is important to us, in no particular order, with one being no more important than the other. We make no claims other than that all of us has a story and each one is essential.

We also believe that a new story of what is possible needs to be embraced. We will not succumb to numbness or denial that we are in trouble with climate change. We will not take sides and demonize people who have a different opinion of what is wrong, or how (or if) to change it. We are a human community and our intention is to build bridges between folks who agree and who do not. We will tell our truths, and embrace others to tell theirs. We are all in this together, and we want to empower everyone to find their place in how the bigger story takes shape.

Our project is but one of many, many others around the globe that are working towards the same thing. A river of stories, people, organizations and coalitions that, as we flow together, can grow stronger and more powerful as we gain momentum.

What needs our love?

Everybody, everything.

"The climate crisis has already been solved. We already have all the facts and solutions. All we have to do is to wake up and change.”

-Greta Thunberg, TEDx Stockholm, 2018
